WHAT IS GRAB THE LADDER?

When you decide to sell your home the array of estate agents vying for your custom can often be bewildering. They often appear to broadly offer the same range of services with promises of unrivalled service, aggressive marketing campaigns, proven success in the area, a dedication to selling your property for the best possible price.

So how do you choose? Do you go with the market dominant agent? The one who advertises more properties in the local paper than anyone else? The one with the most branded minis prowling the streets? Do you ask friends and family about their experiences? Or go for the cheapest?

If truth be told, you should probably consider all of the above. But the experiences of others count for a lot. Whilst putting this site together we asked friends and family how they would choose their next agent. "Personal referral" came the unequivical response.

What about review sites on the internet? was our response, in light of what we were attempting to put together at Grab the Ladder. "Full of complaints" was the answer. And it's true - most internet review sites are full of complaints about estate agents. Rarely a good word is spoken about them.

Partly this is because people only bother to write if they want to let off steam about their horrific experiences, and let's be honest, estate agents haven't got the best of reputations. However, we firmly believe that there are friendly, efficient and highly professional estate agents out there and the aim of this site is to highlight them. Of course we expect negative reviews but we're also encouraging the estate agents themselves to ask satisifed clients to write positive reviews.

We're aiming for a balance of opinion so you can choose your estate agent with confidence.

We hope this site proves useful.
